The Konjac Sponge is one little treasure that seems to get overlooked. A konjac sponge is made from the root of a konjac plant (a porous vegetable that grows in Asia), which means that it is a natural replacement for the natural sea sponge (which is a living creature) and the synthetic sponge (which is normally plastic based).

Description
The Konjac Sponge is hard until you place it in water and then it is transformed into a silky soft sponge. It is really gentle and is soft enough for babies. It is also great for using with your facial wash and also for removing make-up. I know some people who just use the sponge with cold water each morning to get rid of dead skin cells and brighten their completion.
After you’ve used your sponge don’t wring it out, you should allow it to dry naturally. For hygiene purposes (as you would with any other sponge) you should replace your Konjac Sponge every 2 – 3 months. Once you have your replacement you can pop your sponge into your composter – job done.
